Absolute Environmental Solutions Ltd ("we", "us") is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. What we collect, and when

We only collect personal information that you give us yourself, through one of two forms. We do not buy data, and we do not track you around the web.

When you send an enquiry

The enquiry form asks for your name, your email address and your message. It also lets you tell us your company, your telephone number and the service you are interested in, but those three are optional. We record the moment you tick the consent box as evidence of your consent.

When you request a consultation booking

The booking form collects the same contact details as an enquiry, plus the address and postcode of the site you would like us to visit, the appointment time you choose, and any notes you add. As with an enquiry, we record when you gave your consent.

The enquiry and booking forms do not record your IP address, and nothing you submit is written to our application logs. A transient IP address is held in one place only — the strictly necessary session described under Cookies below, which protects our forms against cross-site request forgery. It is held only for the life of that session, is never used to track or profile you, and is not linked to any enquiry or booking.

Why we are allowed to hold it (lawful basis)

We rely on two lawful bases. Your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form and can withdraw at any time; and our legitimate interests in responding to your enquiry, arranging and managing the consultation you asked for, and keeping a record of the projects we have discussed. We do not use your information for marketing.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing. Where a project goes ahead, we may pass the details necessary to carry it out — for example the site address — to the licensed carrier or facility we appoint for that job, so they can attend. Your information is also processed by the reputable providers who host this website and deliver our email on our behalf, under contracts that require them to keep it secure. We will disclose information if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We do not keep personal information longer than we need it. Enquiries are deleted automatically once they are more than 2 years (730 days) old. Bookings are deleted automatically once the appointment date is more than 2 years (730 days) old — the clock runs from the visit, not from when you booked, so a booking made well in advance is kept for the full period after it has taken place. These periods are enforced by an automated routine that runs every day.

Cookies

This website sets no analytics or advertising cookies and uses no third-party tracking. The only cookies we set are the strictly necessary ones that keep the site working and protect our forms against cross-site request forgery. Because there are no non-essential cookies, there is no cookie banner to accept.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you; to have it corrected if it is wrong; to have it deleted; to restrict or object to how we use it; to ask for it in a portable format; and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email enquiries@a-e-s.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

How to complain

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date it was last reviewed is shown at the foot of the page.
